Humble beginnings
It all began when Fred Venter and Ronnie Pienaar purchased a well-established foundry, called Light Castings, from the Greenhorn family in 1991.
The Greenhorn Family had been manufacturing smaller-size castings from their foundry which was located in the industrial area of Boksburg since 1961.
The new owners changed the foundry name to High Duty Castings and steadily started to expand the foundry facilities to enable them to manufacture larger castings to better serve their existing customers and to expand into a host of industries and markets.
